MAPSCorps Summer 2023 Neighborhood Business Survey Introduction The MAPSCorps Summer Program is a six-week initiative hosted by Northwestern University's Digital Youth Network (DYN). It partners with community-based organizations to allow high school and college students to understand communities, and research their historical context, public health threats, and disparities. The program also collects and analyzes community asset data and relationships to public health threats. Finally, the participants develop and present policy proposals responding to these public health threats. The program teaches STEM skills and focuses on career readiness skills such as problem-solving, conflict resolution, and professional communication. MAPSCorps Internship Project Background The Emerald South Economic Development Collaborative , a non-profit organization, had partnered with MAPSCorps to facilitate the generation of community wealth and the promotion of local culture through shared pride, power, and investment in Chicago's mid-South Side. Their primary goal is to connect, engage, and support influential individuals, projects, and programs. The organization is committed to attracting and coordinating investment through community gatherings and collaborative partnerships to enhance local ownership and prosperity. The 311 Service Requests in Chicago have been promoted as a comprehensive platform for resolving various local residential issues, including potholes and police services. 2012 Atlantic-Pacific Hurricane Season Track

Hurricane Paths Animated Adjusting the time step interval to "10 years" for the Illinois population map and the ISO Time to "Hourly" for the Hurricane paths map was very important in order for the animations to play. If nothing changed, then the whole time intetval for both maps would be turned off. If it was not properly adjusted with a specific time interval, then the entire animation would have been too short or too long depending on the min/max time interval. Go Home
